Q: How old must I be to obtain a CDL?

A: You must be 18 years old to obtain a CDL, however you must be 21 years old to drive out of state.

Q: Am I paid during training?

A: Professional drivers get paid as they are hauling freight. Since you will not be hauling freight during your training, you will not be getting paid.

Q: Do I have to sign a contract with a carrier when I come to your school?

A: Absolutely not! Once you obtain your CDL you are free to go to whatever company you wiuld like. job placement assistance is available to you through our Placement Department should you come to use it.

Q: How much money can I earn as a Truck Driver?

A: The average professional driver salary varies by location, experience, and company. Most professional drivers get paid by the mile. On average a professional driver could earn anywhere between $700-$900 a week their first year.

Q: I have some background issues, can I still become a professional driver?

A: Yes, you can become a professional driver with a criminal or motor vehicle past. Carriers will look into your criminal or motor vehicle past on a case by case basis.

Q: Is CDL XPress Truck Driving School, Inc. licensed by the State of Indiana?

A: Yes, we are licensed by the State of Indiana. All our instructors are Certified CVTA instructors.

Q: Will I receive a certificate upon completion of the program?

A: Yes, you will receive a certificate to show carriers you have completed a training program.
